Free Solar Site Assessment and an Accompanying Reach-Out from Local Installers

There are three main barriers that keep people from adopting solar: cost, red-tape, and customer inaction. The most important truth remains--Solar panels are a smart energy solution of the future that reduces the risks we face from increasing power prices and cuts our reliance on fossil fuels – over 35% of Blaine County’s electricity mix comes from out of state coal fired power plants. The limited-time nonprofit initiative reduced the three barriers listed above. RePower cut costs by relieving customer acquisition costs for installers. Red-tape and momentum barriers were addressed by vetting installers for the customer; setting up educational workshops to explain the technologies, incentives, and financing options; and creating limited-time campaigns to get people to act fast.

Switching to Solar Energy

Description

Solarize Blaine was a limited-time nonprofit initiative that helped the people of Blaine County install solar power at a discounted price. Solarize Blaine leveraged the power of group purchasing to reduce the cost of going solar and our competitive tiered pricing structure increased savings as more people participated. We had already qualified solar installers in our region and arranged competitive financing options with local banks to reduce all the barriers that could get in the way of generating citizens' own clean, affordable energy.
